Brexit TIE for British Residents in Valencia

What it is

UK nationals who were legally resident in Spain before 1 January 2021 keep their residence rights under the Withdrawal Agreement. The TIE issued under that Agreement is the document that proves it, and it is the card to show at borders and in day-to-day procedures in Valencia.

If you still hold the old green EU registration certificate, exchanging it for the Withdrawal Agreement TIE is strongly recommended. If you did not register, you may still be able to prove your residence before 2021, and close family members may also be covered.

The card is requested at the police with a cita previa appointment. In Valencia city, TIE fingerprints and collection take place at the Comisaría de Patraix (Calle Gremis, 6); outside the city there are other police stations in the province, such as Alzira, Burjassot, Gandia, Ontinyent, Paterna, Sagunto and Xirivella.
