Digital Nomad Visa for Valencia
Valencia's climate, beaches and cost of living have made it a favourite with remote workers. If your clients or employer are outside Spain, the digital nomad route can let you live here legally. We build the application and see it through.
What it is
Spain’s visa and residence authorisation for international remote work is designed for people who work for companies abroad, or who are self-employed with mostly foreign clients. You can apply at a Spanish consulate before you travel, or from inside Spain if you are here legally, in which case the authorisation is processed at national level.
The application relies on solid evidence: your contract or client agreements, the length of your professional relationship, your qualifications or experience, a minimum income, health insurance and a clean criminal record. When you are approved and settle in Valencia, you then apply for your TIE card here.

Documents usually needed
- Passport valid for the whole stay.
- Employment contract or client contracts, and a company letter confirming remote work.
- Proof of the professional relationship's length and of the company's activity.
- Degree or proof of professional experience.
- Evidence of income at or above the required threshold.
- Health insurance valid in Spain.
- Criminal record certificates, legalised or apostilled and translated.
Income thresholds are linked to the Spanish minimum wage and are updated. We confirm the current figures and the format of each document for your case.

- Route. We compare applying from a consulate with applying from Spain.
- File. We prepare the application and supporting documents and tell you what needs legalising and translating.

Timeframes
Times vary between consulates and the in-Spain route. Allow several weeks for preparation and the decision, plus the time needed to gather apostilles and translations.
Price
450 € + VAT per main applicant for the full service. If you have prepared the file yourself and only want a review and filing: from 250 € + VAT. Each additional family member: 100 € + VAT. Official fees, translations and legalisations are separate; the padrón and TIE in Valencia are quoted apart.
Frequently asked questions
Can I work for Spanish clients on this visa?
A limited share of work for Spanish clients is allowed for freelancers, but most of your activity must be for companies outside Spain. We check your client mix.
Can my family come with me to Valencia?
Yes, your spouse or partner and children can usually be included, with additional evidence of income.
Will I pay tax in Spain?
If you live in Valencia most of the year you will normally become a Spanish tax resident. Tax planning is a separate matter, and we recommend specific advice.
Should I apply before I arrive?
Both routes work. Applying from Spain avoids consulate waits but requires you to be here legally when you file.
